Portalocity and Beyond, Monday, Fandom Time

The permafusion had found her. Like... like it was nothing, she had found her. Had spent the weekend trailing behind her around the island, knowing that Peridot was right there, and if there was ever a more efficient way to terrify a stranded Peridot than that, this particular Peridot didn't know what it was.

But she did know that the island was no longer safe. And the only place she would be safe would be back on Homeworld. If she were to follow the Garnet's footsteps back to that particular version of Earth, then perhaps she could at least find some sort of abandoned Gem technology to send a distress signal back to Yellow Diamond. At this point, it seemed like her only hope.

And so, with her shoulders squared and a handful consisting of all of her earnings from Stark's, she made her way to Portalocity.

"A large individual with square hair most certainly used your services over the course of this weekend. I need you to send me to where she went."

Peridot wasn't having the greatest of luck. Any luck. Peridot's luck? Not great. Her attempt to at least do some amount of her mission before contacting the Diamonds had ended in a run-in with the Crystal Clods and a Kindergarten injector drill falling down on top of her. She'd just barely managed to make her escape in time, using her limb enhancers to airlift her to safety.

It was fine. She didn't need the Kindergarten. She had what information she needed on the cluster, at any rate, and now she could focus on saving herself before it was too late.

In her retreat, she had managed to make her way to an old, demolished communication hub without being detected by the Crystal clods, and she'd even pieced together enough of the broken and ancient Gem technology to broadcast a system on every channel that she could possibly patch into. Sure, it meant that her signal would override any Earth broadcasts being played, but what did that matter to her? So long as there was a chance that it would make it to Yellow Diamond back home, she had to try.

She squared her shoulders, trying to look as composed as she possibly could. And then she hid 'record.'

"This is Peridot transmitting on all frequencies from abandoned crystal system colony planet Earth, to Yellow Diamond. My mission has been compromised, my escort," she raised one finger, "and informant," she raised another, "are gone and I am now stranded! Please send help!"

Considering the desperate plea at the end of that broadcast and her increasingly agitated state throughout, it was entirely possible that 'composure' really had nothing to do with it. Still, it was going to have to do. Pressing her hand into the communication hub's control panel, Peridot gave the ancient device one simple command.

Broadcast.

And then, fearing that the Crystal Gems might return to find her here upon intercepting her transmission, she turned and ran.

[OOC: THE CANONING BEGINS. Ahem. Peridot's message is going to take a while to get to the island, so this sucker is just establishy goodness, with that second chunk taken from the Steven Universe episode, "Cry For Help," and a bit of alluding to "Keeping it Together" for good measure.]
